selected work illustration photography sketchbook exhibition about/CV
Jocelyn Harte (b. 2004, Iowa) creates artifacts of obsession through paintings, books, and ceramics. The Eastern Orthodox tradition foregrounds her style alongside the geometry and elegance of the Italian Renaissance. Antiquity ignites her curiosity with artistic legacy and preservation. Using her archive of family and personal photographs, she experiments with figures, mythological goddesses and abstraction. Spaces in her work are flattened through the application of perspective and matte egg tempera. Glazes are mixed by hand to recreate textures of stone and bronze.
A timeless space is born.
